this question is directed to the kind people who do packaging of our
software for the various operating systems.
Package/port maintainers: Would you be interested in joining a separate
mailing list, where we can send around new versions that are about to be
released, so packaging problems can be found before a release, instead
of after? This list would not be the same as an announcement list, where
final releases would be sent to.
