A new name server running nsd: ns2.nic.fr

ns2.nic.fr, secondary name server for 19 ccTLD and 470 other various
domains (some big in-addr.arpa and many small domains of ".fr") is now
running NSD.

~ % dig +short @ns2.nic.fr CHAOS TXT version.server
"NSD 1.2.2"

So far, it works. We had to suppress one domain whose data were not
loaded by nsd (different TTLs in a RRset). And we have problems with
statistics (see my next message).

Congratulations to the NSD team, we are glad to increase the genetic
diversity of the Internet infrastructure.

Some details:

The box is an AlphaServer DS20E. It has two processors and 3
gigabytes of RAM. It runs Tru64 5.1B.

It serves 464 domains, which means 8228541 records (the largest zone
is ".nl" with 5302694 records).

The database is 365939793 bytes on disk and the daemons take 816M in
memory.

There are from 1000 to 1200 requests per second.

Until now, it works
